2017 Message from the Minister for Ageing

TANYA DAVIES MP, Minister for Ageing The NSW Seniors Festival marks a time of year when the NSW Government thanks our seniors for their contributions to the community, while also encouraging seniors to continue to remain active, stay socially connected, and try new experiences in life.

In its 59th year, the theme for the 2017 NSW Seniors Festival Let’s Do More Together is about promoting inclusive communities by providing a range of opportunities for seniors to make new friends, get together with old friends, and try new things.

Let’s Do More Together is about celebrating our seniors for their energy, experience and unique ability to know what inspires them and what makes them happy.

Throughout the Festival there will be opportunities to hear from our inspiring Ambassadors who will share their experiences about food, gardening, art, sport, technology, recreation and travel.

Through the NSW Seniors Card program you can also receive information about the many events, discounts, special offers and competitions on offer to NSW seniors throughout the year. If you haven’t already, I encourage you to download the free NSW Seniors Card app to receive up-to-date information on events and discounts near you.

I trust you will Do More Together and enjoy the hundreds of events taking place during 2017 NSW Seniors Festival.

Minister for Ageing
